The acclaimed clarinetist and vocalist is performing with his trio every Tuesday from 8:30-11 PM at Backstage Tavern (346 W. 46th St.), and every Thursday and Sunday from 6–9 PM at Tio Pepe (168 W. 4th St.), where jazz enthusiasts gather for evenings filled with timeless standards, warm vocals, and pure musical joy.
In addition to his electrifying performances, Rick’s latest musical projects continue to make waves. His album Mr. Paganini showcases his vocal and clarinet mastery on a stunning collection of jazz standards, while his heartfelt album What a Wonderful World is For Your Grammy consideration—a testament to his enduring artistry and emotional depth. Online, fans flock to Ride with Rick, a charming YouTube series where Rick shares spontaneous performances and behind-the-scenes glimpses of life as a working jazz musician in the city.

Beginning April 30, which just happens to be International Jazz Day you will be able to find it on YouTube and Indie Rights Movies For Free. Rick Bogart worked in New Orleans during the heyday” of the French Quarter during the mid-1970s within the first five blocks of Bourbon Street. At that time, there were fifteen full-time Jazz bands along those blocks. Audiences will also discover Rick’s collaborations with legendary figures including Snookum Russell, Wallace Davenport, June Gardner, Nick Gagliardi, Milton Ziedrich, and Thomas Jefferson—highlighting his influential role in preserving and advancing the jazz tradition.
Rick is no stranger to the big screen as he also made his mark in film and television, contributing music to HBO’s Earthly Possessions and Love in the Time of Money, and appearing in documentaries such as When the Clarinet Swings, Sandy Jordan’s World of Jazz and Cabaret, and Mr. Jazz: Louis Armstrong by Michele Cinque.
Sunday’s at Tio Pepe have become a cherished community event where guests are invited to sing alongside the Rick Bogart Trio in an inclusive and joyous atmosphere.
