Yuki Yamamura a jazz bassist based in New York, won two silver awards for his debut album as a leader, View of 124, at the Global Music Awards in the US, in the composer and group categories.

The Global Music Awards is an international music awards program that recognizes outstanding artists, composers, producers, and performers in the music industry. The awards celebrate musical diversity by inviting participants from around the world and evaluating music of various genres.

The Global Music Awards is seen by many artists as an opportunity to increase their recognition in the music industry. Winners are recognized in a variety of categories, including performance, album, single, composition, and production. The awards are determined to reflect the musical trends and innovations of the year.

View of 124 was produced with the awareness of balancing the skills and experience he cultivated with local musicians in New York with his identity as a Japanese person that he felt after living abroad and returning to Japan for a short time, and the result is a jazz sound that blends these two together.

This is Yamamura’s first album as a leader, and all nine songs are original compositions by Yamamura, recorded in New York. All the songs are original works composed by Yamamura himself, and were reconstructed for the piano trio from about 300 demo tracks recorded across genres between 2018 and 2023 (currently available on his Instagram).
